Choosing Lenses
We all spend a lot of time picking out the perfect frame to express our personality. Yet sometimes, many of us ignore the most important part of the package: lenses. Your frames may draw you compliments, but it’s your lenses that do the important work of helping you see.
There are several lens options available (materials, coatings, etc.) that can increase the optical quality of the lenses and help you to see the world clearer. Below are a few popular options to consider:
-
Glare Reducing/Anti-Reflective (AR) Coating
-
Harmful Blue Protection Coating
-
Transitions®
-
Moderate to High Prescription Lens Options
-
Progressive Lens Options
Instead of light bouncing off your lenses, it can pass through and enter the eyes, giving you sharper, clearer vision. AR coating can be applied to the front and back surfaces of your lenses to help protect them from scratches, smudges, dust and damaging UV rays. It prevents the “halos” you might see from street lamps or headlights when driving at night.
Smartphones, tablets, computers and televisions all emit blue light. Long periods of exposure can lead to eyestrain, eye fatigue and even sleeplessness.Harmful Blue Protection coating is the best solution for anyone who uses digital screens throughout the day. As well as protecting your eyes, it provides higher contrast and a more relaxed viewing experience.
This special treatment turns your clear lenses to sunglasses when they are exposed to UV light (sunlight). When you return indoors – or to your car – your lenses turn clear again. Transitions® come in a variety of tint colors including gray and brown.
Vision Care offers premium high-index lenses that are suited for anyone with a moderate to high prescription who requires a strong, elegant lens. Compared with a standard lens, it is up to 40% thinner and five times stronger. You can receive comfort in knowing it has optical purity, exceptional durability, a lightweight feel and UV protection.
Do you experience blurred vision when transitioning between viewing distances? Then you may have presbyopia; a common change in eyesight that typically affects people over the age of 40, bifocal or progressive lenses could be the solution for you. Progressive lenses are used to correct presbyopia, the loss of the eyes’ ability to focus on near objects. Progressive Lenses also referred to as “no-line lenses” have a gradual curvature across the lens surface and provide not only clearer vision at near and far distances, but also smooth, comfortable progression in between. They allow for continuous vision at near, middle, and distant focal ranges, with no lines or image jumps.
Frames
Selecting the right pair of glasses is a balance between fashion and function. Vision Care is an expert at helping you achieve a look that expresses your personality, while making sure each frame does what you need to enjoy great vision. We have selected from hundreds of frames to bring you the most up-to-date styles to choose from, ranging from budget-friendly value to show stopping designer brands. When you choose a frame you like, we will expertly pair it with lenses and a custom fitting to ensure that they look great and feel great on your face.
Sunglasses
Wearing sunglasses is one of the healthiest things you can do for your eyes. UltraViolet light (UV) can prematurely age your eyes and to lead to cataracts and other conditions. Like most glasses, good sunglasses block the sun’s harmful rays, but they can do so much more. Depending on the kind you use, sunglasses can significantly increase your comfort while improving safety when you are driving or enjoying your favorite outdoor activities. You might also think you look cooler in them.
Swimming Goggles
Swimming Goggles can help you see better underwater. Prescription swimming goggles will allow you to see without the need to wear contacts in the water. Goggles also protect your eyes from the irritation that can come with the chemicals the pool is treated with and the materials in the water.
